PRIO renews exclusive sponsorship with pilot Nicolas Costa for the third consecutive year

Rio de Janeiro, March 02, 2023 – PRIO (B3: PRIO3 — formerly PetroRio), Brazil’s largest independent oil and gas company and a pioneer in recovering and increasing the useful life of mature fields, announces the renewal of its exclusive sponsorship with pilot Nicolas Costa. The company also sponsors, once again, the car used in the races that, this season, has a new and bold painting with elements and animals that represent the company’s assets.

The novelty for 2023 is the category change, this year, the driver Nicolas Costa will race in the Porsche Carrera Cup (992) – Sprint Championship, in a joint decision with the company, explains PRIO’s manager of Incentive Projects and Sponsorships, Gabriel Hackme. “Nicolas has experience in this type of competition and we decided to bet on this modality of short races with only one driver, different from what we had in Endurance. Sports are one of PRIO’s incentive pillars, and motorsports are already part of our supported initiatives since 2021, when we started the partnership with Nicolas and the Porsche Cup,” he says.

Another novelty this season is the new paint job for the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup – 992 Series, which is very bold, inspired by an oriental aesthetic fusing traditional and contemporary elements, and illustrating power, safety, speed, and obstinacy.

Porsche Carrera Cup (992) – Sprint Championship
The 2023 Porsche Carrera Cup (992) – Sprint Championship season will begin this weekend (03 to 05/03) with the first of the six sprint races of the season. The most produced and bold racing cars will be at Interlagos, which also hosts the category’s pre-season on Thursday (03/02).

This year, almost all the rules from the last few seasons have been kept. There are nine stages in all, six of which are valid for the Sprint Championship and three for the Endurance Championship.

The races are broadcasted by Band, Sportv, and the competition’s official YouTube channel.
