PRIO launches campaign to inspire and support its #TeamPRIO of Paralympic athletes
With exactly one year to go until the thrilling opening of the world’s foremost parasports event, PRIO – the largest independent oil and gas company in Brazil – has launched a new campaign aimed at honoring and spotlighting #TeamPRIO, composed of high-performance para-athletes supported by the company, who will represent Brazil in the upcoming sports competitions. With an inspiring video, the company reaffirms its commitment to inclusive and empowering sports.
With the concept of “A Mente é Imparável”, the two-minute animated short subject was created by monkey-land, with an original idea from #TeamPrio itself. The movie shows a ball of modeling clay representing the human mind, which – throughout the sequence – takes on new forms, enduring hardships and overcoming each challenge until reaching the moment of victory. At the end, the PRIO Paralympic team appears, including swimmers Gabriel Araújo and Clodoaldo Silva, and an invitation for people to get to know and engage with Brazil’s Paralympic team. Check out the video.
Renowned Brazilian Paralympic athlete Daniel Dias served as special consultant for the campaign. As a multi-time champion and passionate advocate of sports for everyone, the para-athlete played a crucial role in guiding the campaign’s narrative. His unique experience and valuable insights helped shape PRIO’s message in a way that genuinely resonates with the audience.
“PRIO believes that each para-athlete has a unique story and an unbreakable willpower, and this campaign serves as a tribute to these amazing individuals who have shown that nothing is impossible. Sports is a land of non-conformity, boldness, and results, all of which are the mainstays that speak to our proposal as a company, and para-athletes are true examples of this. This campaign not only celebrates their remarkable strengths, but also amplifies the voices of those who show unique resilience,” says Rick Abreu, head of Communications at PRIO.
“The campaign emphasizes the importance of inclusion and breaking down barriers, encouraging a more open and respectful mindset. In this process, Daniel Dias’ participation was very important, as he practically took over the role of creative director. Based on the powerful concept, he helped guide communication, with execution that changed the path in order to get the message right,” states Toni Fernandes, partner and Creative Director at monkey-land.
The first private Brazilian oil company to support para-athletes, PRIO has reinforced its commitment to promoting a more inclusive and less unequal society through sports. Serving as ambassador for #TeamPRIO is swimmer and Paralympic medalist Clodoaldo Silva (44), considered the greatest Brazilian para-athlete ever. The team is made up of four men and five women: Wallace Antonio (shot put), Gabriel Araújo (swimming), Alana Maldonado (judo), Julyana da Silva (discus throw), Diana Barcellos (rowing), Brenda Freitas (judo), Antônio Tenório (judo), Wilians Silva de Araújo (judo), and Camille Rodrigues (swimming).
Sponsorship of the team is one of the company’s many initiatives to promote sports. PRIO also supports other sports such as automobile racing (sponsored by driver Nicolas Costa and the Porsche Carrera Cup) and martial arts, as well as actions to encourage culture and environmental preservation.
