PRIO is the new sponsor of Casa Grande Theater
Brazil’s largest independent oil and gas company, PRIO, is investing 1.5 million reais in sponsorship of the Casa Grande Theater through the Federal Law of Incentive to Culture.
The amount invested in the traditional Casa Grande Theater will allow the development and creation of new programming aimed at audience formation, will help with the theater’s Annual Maintenance Plan, and will make socio-cultural activities possible.
The reason for choosing Teatro Casa Grande
Inaugurated in 1966 under the name Café Concerto, Teatro Casa Grande has presented, in these five decades of uninterrupted activity, several artistic shows mounted in Rio.
The Casa Grande theater has always been a stage for great political debates and a mobilizer in defense of political and social freedoms.
“Just like every good carioca, PRIO is a lover of the arts, culture, sports and Rio de Janeiro. It is a source of pride for us to support the Casa Grande Theater and be part of the continuation of the success story of such an important venue for the city’s cultural scene,” says Nelson Queiroz Tanure, Chairman of the Board of PRIO.
PRIO’s sponsorship will allow the theater to develop a varied agenda of activities, such as adult theater, music, dance, humor and an extensive children’s program.
It will also allow us to serve institutions and social projects that collaborate with the formation of an audience, such as theater students, who will have the opportunity to take a guided tour of the venue to get to know the backstage of the Casa Grande Theater.
