Triple gold: Gabriel Araújo shines at the Paris Paralympic Games
Gabriel Araújo, known as Gabrielzinho, achieved an impressive feat at the Paris Paralympic Games. The S2 class swimmer, an athlete from PRIO Team, secured Brazil three gold medals, consolidating his prominent position in the competition. Gabrielzinho dominated the 50m backstroke, 100m backstroke and 200m freestyle events, reaffirming his talent in the sport.
On Monday (2), Gabriel secured his third gold medal by winning the 200m freestyle with an impressive time of 3:58.92. His rivals, Vladimir Danilenko and Alberto Diaz, completed the podium with times of 4:14.16 and 4:22.18, respectively. Last week, the swimmer had already stood out in the 50m and 100m backstroke events, with times of 50:93 and 1:53.67, respectively.
Wallace Antonio, Julyana da Silva and Diana Barcelos, other athletes from PRIO Team, shone this week, but did not achieve the expected results in their respective competitions. Julyana da Silva was a finalist in the shot put and came in 6
The next PRIO Team athletes to compete will be Alana Maldonado, Brenda Freitas and Wilians Silva de Araújo. The rounds are scheduled for the following days and times:
Friday (09/06):
- Gabriel: 50m freestyle at 6:00 am (final to be defined)
- Alana Maldonado and Brenda Freitas: Judo, qualifiers at 5:00 am and finals at 11:00 am
Saturday (09/07):
- William Silva de Araujo: Judo, qualifiers at 4:30 am and final at 10:30 am
