PRIO at the 1st Reservoir Geology and Geophysics Week

Rio de Janeiro, August 09, 2022 – Aiming to share knowledge and contribute to the training of future professionals in the sector, PRIO (formerly PetroRio), Brazil’s largest independent oil and gas company and a pioneer in recovering and increasing the useful life of mature fields, will be present at the 1st Reservoir Geology and Geophysics Week, organized by Fluminense Federal University (UFF). PRIO’s participation will be on August 16, and the event will take place between the 15th and 19th of this month.

Igor Neves, the company’s Geophysics specialist, will give a lecture “Application of genetic inversion to update the geological model and positioning of producing wells”, starting at 5:45 pm on August 16.

The event will be held at UFF’s Institute of Geosciences, located at Milton Tavares Avenue, Niterói. The program includes debates, case study presentations, and courses given by reservoir specialists from companies and universities. The 1st Geology and Reservoir Geophysics Week is promoted by the Exploratory Interpretation and Reservoir Characterization Group (GIECAR) from the Universidade Federal Fluminense – UFF, with the support of the National Institute of Science and Technology of Petroleum Geophysics (INCT-GP) and Halliburton.
