PRIO, the largest independent oil and gas company in Brazil and a pioneer in recovering and increasing the useful life of mature fields, is portraying the life of professionals who work on oil platforms in a web series with four episodes, called Stories of Offshore.

In this second season, Offshore Stories goes behind the scenes of the Fênix Project, which promoted the connection between the Octopus and Tubarão Martelo fields, one of the most important steps in the revitalization plan for the two assets located in the Campos Basin, in Rio de Janeiro. The recording team spent 72 hours on the Bravo platform-ship, respecting all the safety rules necessary for working on board.

According to Daniel Brito, head of branding and communication at PRIO, the idea is not only to show how the day to day work on a platform works, but also to show the passion for the offshore world. “PRIO’s great differentiator is people. Their talent, their determination, and their trajectories. Human energy generates energy. This is our positioning and no one better than the offshore workers to show how this works,” he says.

In the first episode, Offshore Stories presents Clovis Ferreira, a cabotage master who works with cargo handling and is one of PRIO’s most experienced employees. He recalls that the platform was nearing the end of its useful life and that the arrival of the company has revived the workers’ hopes. “The Phoenix Project was one of the most important I have ever participated in,” says Clóvis.

Finished in 2021, the Fênix Project was one of the highlights of the energy sector in the last few years, integrating the production of the two fields and creating a private production pole in the region. With a total investment of $45 million, PRIO has generated significant synergies, reduced production cost (lifting cost), reduced risks and pollutant emissions per barrel produced, and extended the economic life of the two fields until 2037, an increase of more than 10 years.

“By humanizing the company’s routine, PRIO seeks to get closer to its shareholders and the public in general,” concludes Daniel Brito.
